So I would not consider myself a materialistic person. I don’t spend much time shopping and really don’t require much stuff. I am well known at my house for being the Goodwill queen and if you don’t wear something, or stop playing with a certain toy it will be gone, and fast.
So we are currently in the process of moving. And frankly I am disgusted by how much stuff we have. How is it that I have become so numb to the excess of my world? How is it that I haven’t noticed how much extra stuff I/we have?
As you might have read in earlier posts my family of four just completed a stint of five months in a 650 square foot studio apartment. We had most of our belongings elsewhere, and much to my surprise we didn’t miss much (except for my dress socks…after October I missed those a lot). During that time we learned to live simply, and it was amazing.
So I guess this is it. I am done. So I guess my husband and the Verdizzlets better get ready because the Goodwill queen is about to become the Goodwill Empress and I am about to simplify my empire! Consider yourselves warned.
Oh and if you invite us over in the near future I am probably bringing “gifts”…just sayin.
